My website address says it all: ‘Bethany Loves Audio’. In fact I’d go so far as to say that sound and music have been obsessions of mine since the age of 5 when I was given my own little cassette player and tape of fairy tales. I wanted to know how this magical little machine worked; I wanted to use it to record my own stories; I wanted to add sound effects and music. I was hooked.

Many years later and after gaining a lot of professional experience, I now have a successful career combining all these things that I’ve loved from such a young age. Storytelling and directing, technical audio abilities, music maker and sound designer – skills that have helped me to excel in my role as freelance voice director and audio producer, and as an independent musician developing my own creative practice.

As a voice director and audio producer I spent nearly ten years specialising in educational media - with a particular focus on ELT - and titles I've worked on have been heard in classrooms all over the world. Since 2022 I've also been directing full-cast audio dramas for clients including Audible, BBC Sounds and Big Finish, where I've worked on both Doctor Who and Torchwood ranges.
