My website address says it all: ‘Bethany Loves Audio’. In fact I’d go so far as to say that sound and music have been obsessions of mine since the age of 5 when I was given my own little cassette player and tape of fairy tales. I wanted to know how this magical little machine worked; I wanted to use it to record my own stories; I wanted to add sound effects and music. I was hooked.

Many years later and after gaining a lot of professional experience, I now have a successful career combining all these things that I’ve loved from such a young age. Storytelling and directing, technical audio abilities, music maker and songwriter – skills that have helped me to excel in my roles as freelance voice director, audio and music producer, and as an independent musician developing my own creative practice.

As an audio and music producer I spent over ten years specialising in educational media - with a particular focus on ELT - and titles I've worked on have been heard in classrooms all over the world. I've worked on projects for numerous publishers including York Press, OUP, Cengage, Pearson, Macmillan and Richmond. Since 2022 I've also been directing full-cast audio dramas, working on high-profile IPs such as

Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions (Audible/Pottermore), Doctor Who (Big Finish/BBC Sounds); Radio 4 Afternoon Dramas; and number one charting releases such as The Ratcatcher (Audible/Bafflegab).

What else? I'm Guildhall School of Music and Drama trained (Masters in Music Composition); a former BBC employee (audio restoration engineer digitising the BBC radio archives); and I used to run a little company teaching music in Early Years settings which was a lot of fun. I do indeed love audio!
